The 2020 Dixon Cup Playoffs are set for February 14-17 in Detroit, MI and the Tigers teams are busy preparing for the weekend. The playoffs will see all four Tigers teams make the trip and look to finish the NAPHL season with some hardware.
The U15/16/18s will all compete in pool play games before the final seedings and crossovers begin on Saturday afternoon with the U18 championship game set for Monday the 17th. The U14 team will play a round robin event with the Arizona Bobcats and Meijer being its opponents.
Coach Carroll of the U14 and 15 team said preparations are going well and energy is great "at this point of the season our staff is focused on tightening up and solidifying our teams structure. The attention is within the details and our execution has high expectations. Win or lose we just want to be playing our best and most consistent hockey possible!" said coach Carroll. "Playoffs are a exciting time for all teams playing, we just hope they are more exciting for us!"
The U16 team is 3-2-1 since the holiday break and confidence is good as they prepare for the finals. "Our players have really bought in and put in the work which makes the stretch run fun" said head coach Kevin Holmstrom. "With great attitudes and a high work ethic we look to play our best hockey!"
The U18 team enters the February event with a lot of confidence and very determined. The team is 9-1 over the last ten games in NAPHL and looks to build on that pushing towards the Dixon Cup. "We have a talented and hard working group that has figured out what it takes to win on a big stage." stated head coach Kevin Holmstrom. "We have a great group that leans on each other in a positive way and good things come that type of chemistry. We are extremely excited to make a great run down the stretch."
