Opportunity for Wakelyn in SJHL

Doug Wakelyn of Colorado Springs joined the Weyburn Redwings of the SJHL over the holiday break and has played his first two games this past week. His path has found him playing through different junior leagues this season with his best opportunity coming with his newest team in Saskatchewan. "I am thankful to be given this opportunity to show that I can play and compete at this high level" said Wakelyn after his first weekend of games.

The SJHL is one of several Junior ‘A’ Hockey Leagues in Canada, the league has developed many players that have moved on to professional and education opportunities.

Wakelyn(2000) backstopped the Tigers over many seasons the last being his U18 final season in 2018-19. In that season Wakelyn posted a 19-13-1 record and impressive 92% saves average.
