The Texas RoadRunners of the NA3HL are pleased to announce that defenseman Brice French has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for Northland College in the WIAC.
French, 20, is currently playing in his first season in the NA3HL and second season overall of junior hockey. The 6’2/200 lbs. native of Fairbanks, AK, currently has 8 points in 30 games played during the 2020-21 season.
When speaking with French about his choice he shared that it was one of the top schools in the country for his major and he would also be able to continue his hockey career with an NCAA program that was interested in him as well.
French was no stranger to the RoadRunners family, as he spent time with the Colorado Springs Tigers in NAPHL for two seasons that is headed by Odessa Jackalopes scout Kevin Holmstrom. French added, "my time as a Tiger taught me how going the extra mile helps you and brings up those around you. The Tigers were some of the best times of my career and molded me in to the player I am today!"
Brice who was with the U18 Tigers for the 2017-19 seasons also served as team captain in his second year for the black and gold. "Brice came in to our program on day one and simply worked every day to make himself and everyone around him better. Brice is a leader, a great teammate and brought so much to our program and the game" said Tigers Head Coach Kevin Holmstrom. "Northland will be getting a great player and more importantly someone that will exceed all of their expectations on and off the ice. I could not be prouder of seeing all of Brice's hard work pay off and be able to experience some great college hockey."
