U15,16,18s Prep for CAHA State Championships

The Tigers Tier1 teams are all set to embrace the CAHA State Championships beginning Thursday February 28 in Monument. The tournament is set up as a double elimination playoff format with the winner advancing to USA hockey’s RMD district event two weeks later in Denver with a Nationals bid on the line.

The U18 team starts the weekend off with a Thursday February 28th afternoon start to open the championships. The U18s will face off with the Rampage at 2:30pm at the Monument Ice Rink.  "These games will have some great tempo and intensity. Playoff hockey is exciting and our division should be extremely entertaining. Our group of young men have really dedicated to the process and details all year long and I'm really proud of the steps each of these guys have taken along the way"stated U18 head coach Kevin Holmstrom. "We are looking forward to playing our best hockey at the right time!"

The 15 and U16 teams will open play on Friday March 1st.  The U16s start off the day vs the Roughriders at 12:15 on Friday while the U15 team will open play at 3:45pm.

We touched base with all the teams head coaches and each are excited and determined as the tournament approaches. U16 head coach Nick Harper had this to say as the team prepares for the weekend, "for us, it is hands down the most exciting time of the year. We are looking forward to seeing each player elevate their game and put together everything they have worked so hard on all season. Every kid that wants to be a hockey player loves playoff hockey and is determined to be at their absolute best." U15s Joey Carroll added "this is what our team has been training for all season. We're determined to do whatever its takes to extend our season."

All games will be played at Monument Ice Rinks.

The U16s and U18s each have a game this weekend on Sunday vs the South Florida Hockey Academy. Game times are set for the U18s at 12:45 with the U16 face off at 2:45. Both games will be at Sertich Ice Center.

Good Luck to all our Tigers teams!
